Acapulco, Mexico

Acapulco was Mexico's first - and perhaps best - beach resort location,
and favourite destination of the 1950s Hollywood elite, who were attracted to its clear, turquoise waters, great nightlife and glamorous accommodation.

While the name conjures up images of Elvis and the Rat Pack,

the party remains alive in present-day Acapulco if you stay in the city, with its creative food scene, bustling waterfront promenade, and lively nightlife. Or you can escape to nearby villages and sink into the sand with nary a tourist around to disturb your peace.
